I doubt it but just wanting to know for sure.

Thanks in advance

Races ? Are we talking horse racing ? If we are talking greyhounds, It wouldn't matter as you can park in the car park. And take the dog out on a lead for a leak.

I used to take a Labrador, (the racings dog travel mate) to all the tracks in Victoria. Between races used to empty her in the car park. The only time I got ticked off was at Warragul by a steward on night.

Im talking greyhound racing.

Going down for the day thought i could take him/her with me, not sure if im allowed to spectate with a dog though.

I wouldnt until you have learnt to handle a greyhound better. Once that lure starts up they are iron men. I take mine to trials but NEVER to a race meet.

A greyhound that is not racing is not permitted on course, while a race meeting is on. In other words the dog will not be able to spectate. The thing I don't understand is why would you want to take a GAP dog/bitch to the track. No muzzle etc, not wanting to speak out of turn, a race track isn't the place for a GAP greyhound.

No I agree with you NP.

How is your greyhound Morgan?
I would like to foster/adopt greyhoundsb when I am older and have a more secure yard. I see them occasionally at the dogs home and they are lovely!

Generally speaking, you probably wouldn't be allowed (unless you were attending as part of a promotion for GAP).
Speaking from experience, it probably isn't a good idea anyway unless you are very familiar with the dog and know how to handle it. Even dogs that have been retired for several years will still get very worked up (and difficult to handle) by the sound of the lure.
If your dog someone got away from you (and got to the track), you could expect a fair amount of trouble from the stewards ;)

Haha yeah i have taken him down to the track, dont think its a great idea. I doubt he would be allowed in anyways. :)

My dog stays inside most of the time when the sun is out in summer. Rather than that, as long as he has water 24/7 available .. I am sure he can survive and not dehydrate.

What's going on guys? Some of these posts are really freaking me out. Or maybe I have been "out of the loop" for too long and am not reading them in the right context or any context at all. I think I need another holiday, see ya.

why your were away we have had a huge import of spam, to be honest a massive amount of newbies offering iphones, viagra and ranting random comments in threads and that was just murray :p but the new lot haha it gets worse and worse

morgan can i suggest to you that maybe it is time for a new membership procedure where you have to verify all members and except them before they can post...the way its going there going to kill your site, no one likes opening up there emails to find 15 messages and 13 of them are spam, its getting like that in the forum now, you open up a thread to find some so called american newbie (they all ways seem to say there american) has posted 2 lines of WTF dribble.

its actually gone way past the "funny the first time" to now a real problem and pain.

Cheers nick

Ditto!!!

Depends if you go to the greyhounds or not. Usually you can take your dog to race if its trained well enough and runs fast enough

goindeep 09-10-2012 07:54 AM

I wouldn't think they are allowed. Unless of course your strap him up and make it look likes hes going to run! Lol :D
