Metro Racing Vision Set To Ignite
 

An innovative five-year Group Racing proposal put together by Victoria’s two metropolitan clubs has been approved by the Board of Greyhound Racing Victoria.

Benefits of the changes include:

The Topgun to be based at The Meadows effective from 2008-9 (i.e. immediately)
2009 Australian Cup increased to $215,000 ($150,000 to the winner) with a total series value of $365,000
Topgun and Sandown Cup to offer stakes of $143,000 from 2008-9 (each $100,000 to the winner)
All Grade 5 metropolitan finals worth $10,000 to the winner from 2009-10
The introduction of a new sprint feature at Sandown supporting the Sandown Cup from 2008-9
