Breaking in Times

had a dog break in a glengarrie. the break in time was around nineteen. this is my first dog and i'm assuming thats quite a bad break in time?

just wondering if anyone could give me there opinion on this?

A good break in time for the 300 is around 18.50. Allthough I have seen dogs break in at 19.50 ending up better that the quick ones. They maybe sore after the work they have gone through while being broke in. Thats why trainers give them a month or two to get over any injury they might have had and then trial them again to see what times they run again. Until then I wouldn't worry too much. My mate had a dog that was broken in there and it run 19.05 the day he took her home. She has now won 4 races from 8 starts. 3 country and one TAB. Don't give up on your dog yet my friend you might end up with a good one.

Glad to hear your dogs are doing well Noel.
I gave my dog his first slip this morning on the straight about 200 yards after he injured his hock 6 weeks ago. He seemed to run nice and straight and not throwing his leg. I checked him out this afternoon and I can't find any soreness around that hock. I'll take him to a muscle man tomorrow just to check it further before I run him again.
I tell you what Noel, the rest he's had seems to have done him real good as he is jumping out of his skin.
