a website for a certain pet food shop ;)

hahaha hmmmmm

a massive statistics website on the races, like a big form guide, that could get way too big though

Yeah that seems like a lot of work and ongoing work.

Forum ideas as they are most easiest to set up
Pets Forum
Dogs Forum (Lost/Found breeding info etc.)
Gradening Forum (Veggie Gardens etc.)
Cooking Forum ( Share ideas for recipes etc.)
Cross-stiching / Crafts etc. Forum

Was thinking a dog forum although there is already

Dogz Online Forums (The Pure Breed Dog Community of Australia)

Reckon a pet forum would be popular?

hmmm pet owners are a very particular type, many of them will only follow the type of animal/animals they have, hence why dogs online is only dogs, i dont know if there is specialised cat forums or fish etc, there may well be, would have to check it out.
So i dont really think an all in one forum would have the impact neccesary, but I suppose it depends if it costs you any money to set up or not, if its easy and cheap give it a crack, if its going to cost much time and effort then think some more before you decide.

With an all in Pet forum i would have main catagories for say

Dogs, Cats, Fish, Birds

Within those catagories id have breeds (with sub forums of major breeds) training, feeding, pictures etc

Might be a bit much all in one forum but i might look into it.

Im thinking of creating another dog forum, would be using the some outlay as racingforum.com.au but have different forums etc.

Think it could compete with dolforums.com.au ?
