Apparently alot of breakers have nothing but bad reports about Bond pups. They apparently break in well but many do not go on with it. Also there are a number of people with Bond pups who have issues with their temprament.

A number of people also question Bonds willingness to chase as they believe on a number of occassions he failed to do so.

Again thanks Dougie, Black Enforcer's, at face-value, impressive statistic is coming down slowly and Surf Lorian's comparable stat is going up. The latter is now just short of the 13% mark but that doesn't mean he will actually get there. Bombastic Shiraz who I like is only just the tiniest bit over 14%. It's all much too late now but "go Surf Lorian, get past 13% and head upwards".

Surf Lorian has crept closer to the 13% mark but is still not there. With regard to my interest, it is all well and truly too late now but it would be comforting to see his figures improve. I was looking at the extended bloodlines of the relevant pups recently and although hardly surprsing, I was once again struck by the impact of Temlee on Australian breeding. Going back 5 generations (the line of 32), 60% of those dogs and bitches were either Temlee himself, by Temlee or by/out of a Temlee dog/bitch. To be honest I don't know one way or the other whether this a good, bad or indifferent thing. There were plenty of other multiple appearances such as but not only, via Waverley Supreme and Witche's Coven. Two previous matings for the brood bitch have been successful to the same stud dog but to be honest, I am thinking that this might be the almost inevitable "dud" litter. Not that they aren't nice pups, it is just that one starts to think that the luck (via the "nick") might have run out.

Fortified Rush litter 23 months old haven't raced yet due to being still very imature but going okay.

Overall Im very happy with way my broodie has thrown some very good winners so far 1 track record holder and a Group 3 finalist. 3 dogs have won in the city. 6 out 9 pups in the litter have won a race or more which is not bad. The sire i want to use next is by Surf lorian and cant wait until she comes on season next hopefully a little while longer. cheers Dougie :)

Dougie, what is it that makes you so anxious to use Surf Lorian? You will of course understand that I don't want to knock Surf Lorian, I want these pups to be even better than their older sibblings but the raw statistics do not paint a very positive picture. In not too many months time it won't matter if they are by Rin Tin Tin out of Lassie of course, it will only matter if they can run fast enough and do everything else right. However, I like to worry, it gives me something to think about. I would really be interested as to why you are thinking so positively about Surf Lorian, some extra-positive news would be good.

Although it is only mid February the sires list for 2009 is starting to take shape, sorting out the "sheep from the goats". It will be interesting to see how it develops from here on. For whatever reasons (certainly no logical reasons) I have never been one to get too excited about Elite State but he continues to get the results. You could do a lot worse than him. Collision is doing well. Surf Lorian is only marginally above the 13% mark, he continues to be a bit disappointing from my viewpoint but then Bombastic Shiraz for whom I have a 'soft spot' is only marginally above 12%. Interesting that at least 3 of the top 7 are by Just the Best (Elite State, Big Daddy Cool and Surf Lorian). Just the Best is a good advertisement for breeding from good race bitches (out of Flying Amy), they don't come any better.

Further to my earlier post with regard to the latest Australian Sires List (progressive for 2009 calendar year), there is not all that much diversity with regard to who the sires are by: # 1 sire (by number of winners) Elite State, # 3 Big Daddy Cool and #7 Surf Lorian are all by Just the Best; #4 Bond, #5 Hallucinate and #9 Where's Pedro are all by Brett Lee; #6 Bombastic Shiraz and #8 Primo Uno are by Black Shiraz and then we have #2 Collision (x Awesome Assassin) and #10 Pure Octane (x Token Prince). All are by Australian bred sires. The mighty brood bitch Elusive Rebel produced 3 of the above, Hallucinate, Where's Pedro and Pure Octane, what a brood bitch and she also produced Carnage who is #20. Sobbing Sal not surprisingly has a pretty fair influence through dogs that are by Brett Lee (who is himself # 12 )and she is also the mother of Big Daddy Cool. Unfortunately, only one of the brood bitches is by an imported sire, Thai Again (Bond) who is by Grove Whisper. With regard to bloolines, the scene does not seem as though it is going to change all that much in the future with El Galo by Where's Pedro, Made to Size, Size Can Matter and Slater all by Surf Lorian and Mantra Lad by Pure Octane. I would like to see a dog or two by an imported sire really make an impact, "it is time".

I am new member this is my first p9ost. Latest Australia sire listing is looking a bit different to the Dec 08 list. Does anyone know why Hallucinate has dropped donw the list. Are a lot of his straws going overseas or are his progeny simply not going good enough. Any ideas any inside knowledge.

I just bought 2 Black Enforcer Pups, keep climbing Big Boy. Really good looking pups.
