Racedog Syndicate

Winning Glory Syndications is proud to announce this new racedog syndicate.

INTRODUCING MYSTERY LODGER
http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a2...Lodger-big.jpg

Up for grabs is a last start winner at Victorian tab track Cranbourne

"Charlie" won on Monday night in the speedy time of 9.64 17.88 leading all the way. He has had no luck in previous starts having never drawn a inside box.

"Mystery Lodger has trialled at Warragul 24.46 Cranbourne (420) 25.20 and at the age of 19 months posted the time of 9.40 for the first split at Cranbourne according to his current trainer"

WINNING GLORY IS KEEPING 2 10% SHARES IN THIS SYNDICATE

THE PLAN

He will be sent to the capable hands of Lyn Smith who is based at Maryborough for a assault on tracks such as Bendigo, Ballarat, Geelong, shepparton, Horsham.

At this stage we are not certain if he will get 500m as he has never raced or trialled over more than 400m

PRICE

There is 10 shares

10% is $285
5% is $142.50

Above price includes everything excluding major vet bills and future transport bills if we decide to send him interstate in the future. From time to time members may be asked to make small contributions to the syndicate kitty to keep it financial as the above price only pays for the dog, transport to Lyns and rego papers etc, but hopefully its not needed.

Risks

A return on your investment is not guarenteed by Winning Glory Syndications as there are risks of injury, poor form etc. So before buying a share please be aware that there are risks involved. Winning Glory and its team will do all they can to make your experience a positive one and that means winning lots of races ;)

Why join this syndicate

Because you will be hard pressed to find a syndicate that offers a last start winner for this price.

65% left

The dog is entered to race tomorrow night and i will be scratching him unless all shares are sold. With the amount of interest i have had already it wouldn't surprise me.

Gippy 01-19-2009 09:23 AM

Seemed like pretty good value to me, any dog who can go 17.88 at Cranny will win races!

rob 01-19-2009 11:42 AM

No Won't be there, are you making the trip mick?

Morgan 01-19-2009 11:49 AM

Great price and great dog good luck mate

YUTHAPINABOY 01-19-2009 01:29 PM

Rob, let me tell you I was very tempted. Such a small amount of money for hopefully a lot of fun, even if Mystery Lodger does turn out to be nothing more than a 300 - 400 m dog. I really hope he provides a lot of enjoyment to you and the other owners over an extended period of time. I will be very pleased to see his name come up first in the relevant race results.

dawn mcmillan 01-21-2009 05:00 PM

i am keen more details please

dawn mcmillan 01-21-2009 05:01 PM

i would like to have 10% thanks

Apollo 01-21-2009 10:53 PM

good price but syndicates are not not as good as people make it out be to trust me i know.

YUTHAPINABOY 01-21-2009 11:46 PM

Apollo, to steal a phrase from Pauline Hanson, "please explain". This seems to me to be an extaordinary negative and broad-sweeping statement. I have never been in a syndicate and definitley do not know anyone who runs a syndicate, however, to me it seems like an opportunity for a bit of relatively cheap fun. In percentage terms, not many people are actually going to make money out of dogs, whether it be owning their own dog outright or being part of a syndicate, it is just a bit of fun for most. In this case, if my reading of the preceeding posts is correct, then Dawn has made her run too late on this one but I will leave it to Rob (whoever he is or maybe it is a she) to advise her.

I have contacted Dawn via my site

I think Apollo was talking about horse syndicates. Yep I know about them alright.

YUTHAPINABOY 01-22-2009 12:38 PM

As with the dogs I have not been the member of a horse syndicate but can quickly think of some friends who have "gone down that road". They have all had positive good experiences. This doesn't mean that they have necessarily made a profit but they had a lot of fun including one lot winning a feature jumps race. HOWEVER, I know that it is not logical reasoning (it is not reasonable) for me, on the basis of these few cases to draw a conclusion across the whole population of racing syndicates. Nevertheless, if I was putting $10,000 into a horse syndicate and if I could afford it, I would be going in on the basis of, "the strong chance is that I am never going to see that $10,000 again". That same philosophy applies to spending any money on dogs but the money is not my reason for being involved.

coops 01-22-2009 02:02 PM

I saw Mystery Lodger run the other night and I myself think that this dog is cabable of winning heaps of races. He seems to be a very good beginner and hangs in until he gets crowded by the other dogs. He is still very young and he will get used to the crowding and when he does, look out world.
Those who have purchased a share in this dog for such a small price should have smiles from ear to ear. I reckon, well done.

YUTHAPINABOY 02-14-2009 12:06 PM

Good on you Rob and the rest of the guys. I don't suppose Apollo (refer to his post on this thread) took a share. You don't have to be Einstein to realise that you guys are not going to make your fortune out of this dog but I hope you all have a hell of a lot of fun.

Only a small number of people will make a fortune out of racing:D All you need is a superstar but it doesn't happen for many.

YUTHAPINABOY 02-14-2009 01:43 PM

Rob, after 50 years of interest and involvement in the greyhound industry I am very well aware of this. My philosophy is to plan on the "worst case" scenario, that is, as you spend each dollar, never expect to see that dollar again, anything better is a bonus but hopefully the rewards are in having a lot of fun. Seeing your dog go past the post in first place is an enormous thrill which you can reflect upon, from time to time, for the rest of your life. I do anyway.

For the 7 first time owners it was a huge thrill:D
