Will we all get in the photo on Sale Cup day if she won diesel ?
Was a good win last night 30.12, She is putting a very nice CV together. Easily has the ability to win a feature race. Only 3 years old so plenty of racing left. And will make a very nice brood bitch when finished racing. |
I wonder whether Mantra Lad will turn up for the Sale Cup. He could make it difficult for Salesgreys and many others including one in which I have a keen interest. Congratulations anyway, she's a 'beauty'. I wouldn't mind having her in my backyard, that is, if my wife would let me. I came home one day 15 years ago to find that all was remaining of them was a cement slab.
Sorry, careless of me. 'Them' refers to the 'kennels'. My previous reply sounds like the dogs might have been under the cement slab. Not impossible I suppose.
Apropos of my comments above re Mantra Lad turning up for the Sale Cup and spoiling the party for others, I have since noticed that he has started twice at Sale and been beaten each time, including once behind Salegreys in 37.42. P.S. There was a good dog called Apropos (Vic who did some racing in NSW) back in the early-mid 196Os, however, there is of course a dog called almost anything. There was a racehorse called Anything in the very early 1960s. I remember it winning at Caulfield on my first visit to that track. It was a handy city class horse. Maybe I should call a dog "Almost Anything".
Mate of mine put in for a name of a dog and was passed he got all the paperwork and about 2 weeks later he got a letter saying the dogs name was not allowed to be used! Name was Toora Nova Naomi I said to him I like the name why have they cancelled it and he said spell read it backwards.
I see what you are saying Diesel17. I am frequently amazed at some of the dogs' names these days and particularly with regard to the difficulties they must pose for racecallers. Those racecallers do a fantastic job, a job that is not an easy one, so much pressure to not make any mistakes but of course they do happen even to the best. There have been some beauties. I would like to say more about the subject of racecallers and how good our guys are but I think I will address it in a separate thread or whatever it is called (I am still a complete novice as far as this website goes and IT in general).

Great Run tonight running third. Well Done. cheers Dougie :)
Diesel17, it was a good effort tonight, she ran on strongly. I don't know what is her usual box technique but to my eye she was always going to miss it tonight. She never got down. However, I can't expect you to get in there with her and show her what to do. There are plenty more wins in her, particularly in the right types of races. Keep on enjoying it.
bring on the 650plus Iscool has won 10 races box 1 2 wins 2 2wins 3 none 4 none 5 none 6 2 wins 7 2 wins 8 2 wins Great job tonight just warming up for the distances. Further the better thats not bad 3rd up from a spell squeeze box and to short.
Diesel 17, please excuse my ignorance but I was just looking through the race record of Brett Lee (pretty good too, you might have heard of him :) I hope this comes out as a smile icon ). Anyway I noticed the name of the greyhound who finished second behind him when he ran that amazing 28.88 at Angle Park. It was 'Classic Capri' and I thought 'I know that name, I think it might be the dam of Salegreys Iscool. And yes, I was right. Classic Capri was beaten 6 lengths that night but 'hell' she still ran 29.31 which would win almost any other race around there during any given year. I am only catching up after years of a lower level of interest, so I am learning all the time. As someone mentioned recently, Salegreys has the credentials to be a good brood bitch. Good on you.

Salegreys Gold should be winning in the second race @ Cranbourne tomorrow. This greyhound shows some blistering box speed!
Sorry Diesel17 for my extreme ignorance displayed in my message above. I have only just noticed that Classic Capri was a Melbourne Cup winner (2001) and furthermore that you advised this in your message of 15 Nov. I think she might have run 2nd the previous year.

But any way this is a great site.

Had a few or 56 But I love it mate Cornish Lady babee You dont breed come home withnme babbee Cornish Lady shes special how many times she win at 25 -1 Worst starter in history lost alot of cash then she became the CULT hero jumps every now and then? Then SHE bcome the king LOL 4 times I backed Cornish Lady at 25-1 shes the king A plooder out of the box at Sale to a fast as faark babee Last start 5 lrngths in front in Melb City race and pulled a massive leg muscle WHOS yourr FaV dog mate CORNISH LADY by a MILE.
Cornish Lady was one of those greyhounds you had to set yourself a limit. By that I mean you set yourself a $25 win bet and back her every start. And you would have finished miles in front. Myself I always seemed to miss getting on when she won at long odds. She should throw a nice pup.
At the current crop we have racing love the way "Gold" explodes out of the boxes, in her two Sale placings. And I had a pretty big bet on her @ Cranbourne couldn't see her getting beaten. "Verto" I think his best racing days are well and truly behind him. If he draws the red and jumps, he gives his best. "Hound" early days but seems to lack something, times around Sale when racing arn't that flash. "Iscool" very nice bitch, hopefully she brains 'em tonight. Looks a risk tonight though, hopefully the 8 doesn't decide to jump tonight and cut her off. |

Wasn't on didn't think could cross that field off the seven, at the corner start @ the meadows. Well done on the win though. Not backing the two in @ Sale either today. Hound will be lucky to run a place. While Gold will probably lead and weaken to run third or 4th.
Saviour Of Sin is having it's first start for the syndicate @ Traralgon over 513m. 513m first up!!!!! P.Giles has put alot of work in to get this greyhound back to the track. On memory cost $12k so let's hope we win first up at odds!
Salegreys Iscool over the 600m in race 6 tonight. Well it's a harder field than last week, but we are heading towards the Sale Cup. So will want to be competitive in this to proceed with those plans.

Cool customer
Monday December 8, 2008 Salegreys Iscool, one of the best bred greyhounds in Australia, is really living up to her pedigree. Owned by six prominent Sale Greyhound Racing Club identities, Salegreys IsCool is by 2004 Group 1 Silver Chief winner and The Meadows 525-metre track record-holder Big Daddy Cool and out of 2001 Group 1 Melbourne Cup winner Classic Capri. That's a pretty cool bloodline, and Salegreys Iscool was one cool customer at The Meadows on Saturday night. Prepared by Peter Giles of Moe, Salegreys Iscool snared a $5000 first prize in the Buffalo Sports Cup (600m). A versatile type, Salegreys Iscool ($3.70) defeated Qayyim Bale ($8.70) by three lengths, with Bo Frazier ($3.70) two and a half lengths away third in 34.67sec. Salegreys Iscool has notched 12wins (with eight seconds and four thirds) from 38 starts. Her stakes total $40,750. South Australian mentor Shaun Matcott has built up an alliance with Australia's No. 1 owner-breeder Paul Wheeler, who resides in New South Wales. And he made a hit-and-run mission with two Wheeler-owned speedsters: Kallan Bale and Quinton Bale. Both had earned a trip across the border due to their excellent form at Angle Park in Adelaide. Contesting the Fairfield Cricket Club & Albi Mixed Four/Five (525m), Quinton Bale ($3.00F) defeated Cyclone Ned ($3.50) by three-quarters of a length, with Burning Fuse ($5.30) a half length away third in 30.06sec. It was his 17th win from 28 starts. Two races earlier, Kallan Bale saluted in the Asure Quality Grade Five (525m). Kallan Bale ($3.10F) defeated Uno Kissy ($4.80) by a neck, with Trew Sensation ($24.70) five lengths away third in 30.40sec. It was his 12th win from 21 starts. Time honours on the 11-event fixture went to Farmor Swift in the Whittlesea Lions Club Grade Four (525m). Trained by Robert Britton of Lara, Farmor Swift was back to her brilliant best defeating Excellerator ($14.50) by one and a half lengths, with Din's Son ($1.90F) two lengths away third in 30.01sec. Only lightly raced, Farmor Swift has registered seven wins (with five seconds and seven thirds) from 27 starts, including five wins from 10 starts at MGRA headquarters. Other winners on the program were: Remo Rubik ($1.60F) 30.16sec; Royal Nelson ($3.10F) 30.04sec; Awesimus Maximus ($8.30) 42.73sec; Blachura Bale ($5.30) 30.36sec; Rapid Newfire ($7.00) 34.61sec; Huey Sage ($7.70) 30.53sec; Renovating ($4.60) 30.18sec. Go Iscool, in at Sale Sunday as a warm up for the Sale Cup heats, will be interesting to see what time she'll run. KIPPY KYA looks the danger! |
