Good or bad for us?

bundy 03-31-2008 01:12 PM

Not 100% sure - but - could be good as I think the #9 starts slower than the #2 - not familiar with the #9 dog at all.

Morgan 03-31-2008 01:13 PM

Whats the dogs name ill do a bit of research. Try and find out

bundy 03-31-2008 01:15 PM

Hopefully it doesnt get in the way of ''Gotta Be Happy''

Punter 03-31-2008 07:51 PM

the field doesn't seem that strong....but we will still need our share of good luck at the first bend, unless he pings of course.

claffin 03-31-2008 08:35 PM

5th bumma that no good

claffin 03-31-2008 08:37 PM

Punter 03-31-2008 08:37 PM

dissapointing....but better days ahead in South Australia ;)

Apollo 03-31-2008 09:24 PM

it looked like it was going to finish off ok then seemed to get squeezed on the fence

Morgan 03-31-2008 10:05 PM

Mmm wasnt a very good start for him and then the was no hope coming back was a good race by number 4. Hopefully he can get some wins in SA.

bundy 04-01-2008 12:46 AM

We actually came away from that run quite happy with it all. He railed nicely and started working his way through the field but just couldn't find a path past the bunch of them. Speaking to the old trainer tonight as well, we found that this dog has ability past the 500's so could even be a good 600m dog in SA.

You have to also remember we bought this dog to goto SA but thought we would leave in for Wenty just in case things would go our way. To be honest its a 4 hour round trip for us to get there so if we didnt think he had a chance we wouldnt have kept him in.

Also have to remember the winner went 30.20 - not many dogs can run that at Wenty Park.

Sometimes you have to look past the result and see the bigger picture.

Morgan 04-01-2008 10:23 AM

Atleast there where no injuries and he showed some promising signs fors 500m+ races which is good to see, looking forward to his future races.

bundy 04-01-2008 03:25 PM

Another nice thing as well, Matty the old trainer has wished us all the best in SA - To have him there last night and for him to stay for the race gave me more confidence in my purchase and be able to chat to him to be able to give our new trainer Kim the information she needs to get the dog 'on track' :)

Nice pics Bundy looks like a very placid dog.

myanimall 04-02-2008 03:46 PM

When is he due to get to SA bundy? and how long until you expect to have him racing here?

bundy 04-02-2008 07:19 PM

He's off about an hour ago.... dropped him off, should arrive weekendish and probably a trial them nominate - depends on the trainer and what she wants to do so Ill be watching the members forum with anticipation.

Hope he travells alright. Looking forward to seeing him race in SA

bundy 04-03-2008 07:41 PM

Dorothy of GTE Transport is top stuff and will make sure he arrives in the best condition possible.

TheChook 04-03-2008 10:32 PM

Happy was also just a perfect dog - great in every aspect, in kennels, empty yard, etc

So i would only assume he would also be a great traveller - if so and being an experienced race dog he would have 1, possibly 2 trials starting off with 1 in the first week of being with new trainer then off to nominate depending on how he goes (whether he handles the track, might need another look etc)

Thats my opinion and thoughts anyway :)

Morgan 04-04-2008 11:06 AM

Lets hope he likes the track over in SA

JUst a quick update Happy has arrived safe and sound and in top condidion.

Your right Jaime he is a top kennel dog and a super nice boy. He ate up all his meal and just had a light jog in the yard this morning to stretch his legs.

Will get him checked and evaluate a plan of action
