hey morgan, I was at bulli last night and someone i know had a friend who wanted a greyhound as a pet. Now winnie has a new home. :)

What are retired greyhounds like with other dogs and cats?

depends on the dog, most will say that retired greys probably dont mix well with cats, but it depends on the dog.
Other than that I have a chihuahua silky something cross (small thing) which the retired greys I know dont have any trouble with, just have to watch them and if retired you can train a certain amount of chase out of them.
Just dont expect miracles straight away.

Terrance, some good training can teach them well. My girl Jade used to eat and sleep WITH a cat. Take her walking and she will try to kill any other cat or dog. May be because i take her to trials when her offspring go around but at home she knows they are family, you dont hurt family.

Oh and good stuff Dougie - Glad little Winnie had got a great home. Can be hard sometimes but i have a pup who needs a home and i think we have a few in store.

Thanks TheChook, Very happy with finding a home for her. She has been on a farm for 6 months so i have to bath her and trim her nails. The people who are taking her as a pet are very excited to get her. :)

Those who dont have a pet greyhound, do not realise what they're missing. Understand not everyone can because of work/housing but those who can give a dog a home, and some TLC dont think DO IT.

They dont need much at all... they laze about, want some food, a 10-20mi walk every couple of days... keeps them suffice.

You give them a little, theyll give you a lot. If your in a bad mood... theyre great company.

Best aprt of the day waking up with my dog next to me... and i know you probably think im slack ut i say dog and not Brad as Jades usually kicking him off LOL

Totally agree Jamie, greyhounds make great pets. Angel living a great and spoilt life at home after race career. Need to walk her more often. :)

I bet she is!! and boy doesnt she deserve it after the career she had.

A great little race bitch.... becoming a great mum with offspring winning left right and centre.... and already a great pet.

Could do with a few like her. Hope Jade follows in her footsteps.
