Some stud dogs (this can differ) when theyre drawn may throw enough semen to serve anything from 1-10 bitches (some may throw enough for more but i know a dog with enough for 10)
For a $1,000 sire, if they go natural they could have had an extra 9 straws sold aka extra $9,000

But there can be many other reasons too.... ill find those out when i get my own stud dog hehe ima dreaming
