The Chook is on the money. Very little wastage and it also makes the sires stud life last longer. The more semen available as straws the more $$$ the stud master can make. The sire also now has an oppurtunity to enter overseas markets with the sale of frozen semen. Today you can pick what ever sire you like anywhere in the world and you can access his genes via frozen semen.

Once you have the semen. It then becomes the problem of the vet and the owner of the bitch or the breeder as to what happens as far as having pups is concerned.

Also the sire is not put at risk of catching any sexually transmitted deseases via insemination.
