As matter of factory you could be right Nick.
coops |
In the end the decision comes down to the owner anyway, not the trainer

Hey Nick, me pup Snake is sick this morning mate. I thought something was wrong when he had his performance trial yesterday. He ran a very slow time the worsed he ever done and I thought he might have been sore, but this morning he was not himself at all.
I stuck me finger up his arse to get his temp and he did have a bit of a temp. Will give him some milk and honey a few times during the day and let him come in the house and rest on the lounge. The other dog ran 2nd getting beaten by 1/2 length. Led all bar the post. coops |

keep an eye on him and the amount of water he is drinking, dont want the dog to get assidosis just keep his electrolytes up, whilst milk is good to much will give him the shits big time and ull get a supprise next time you insert a finger there is alot of products out there, just keep an eye on the dog and if he gets worse make the trip to the vet honey and milk is old school, we use milk and dextrose 30 mins after a trial/race but there is a few horse products on the market 1 in a tube and another which is powder form, names escape me at the moment |
Ass idosis without even realizing it u were quiet amusing then, acidosis perhaps

And coops vitamin b gve that to him, an injectable one if u can get ur hands on it
|
Thanks Kyleigh, but It's too much vitamin b thats making him sick. Her has all the vitamin B complex on his dinner every night and I don't think his kiddneys and liver is coping with it. His urine is glowing yellow. I will cut out all vitamins for 3weeks to give his system a bit of a rest.
He has perked up a little this afternoon and he spent the day inside on the lounge. He's not drinking any extra water and I have been giving him Electrolytes as required. I am very carefull when it comes to a stressed dog and give it treatment imediately after a race when it cools down. It's nice when people are concerned about other peoples dogs and give advise. Thanks heaps guys. coops |
Sounds like he has been burnt if his pee is really yellow, kidneys=drink water like mad, some amino lights wouldn't go astray, and a course of antibiotics by the sounds of it
