cheyenne 11-29-2010 11:29 PM

i thought the heats where on the eighth, bit close to trail .

chub 11-30-2010 04:50 AM

heats are on the 9th so gives your dog 3 days to get over it cheers chub

chub 12-03-2010 01:50 PM

hobart thousand fields cheers chub.

Kyleigh 12-03-2010 05:17 PM

they would have to be the weakest fields ever chub!

Kyleigh 12-03-2010 05:18 PM

Cohen Bale, x rays today wasnt his hock, going home and getting fixed up broke just below his hock in 3 places....ouch

chub 12-03-2010 06:54 PM

yes kyleigh the fields arent that strong but they can only draw whats entered and hopefully cohen bale will get back to racing cheers chub.

Kyleigh 12-03-2010 07:19 PM

well personally I think Damek may have just scared some of the big boys away chub, what do you think?

chub 12-03-2010 07:27 PM

maybe kyleigh and those that trilled last week when damek ran 25.97 the best was 26.48 on there own and we know most dogs need three runs there to get the hang of it cheers chub.

nickg 12-03-2010 08:51 PM

coops 12-04-2010 06:32 AM

Bit rough, at first look they thought they could actually fix it with a couple of screws, when the xrays were looked at again by another vet the probability of fixing the break was very low and also a lot of pain for the dog for quiet sometime IF the surgery was successful, for those who know the dog had actually brokenhis tarsal in 3 places at first they thought they were all clean breaks unfortunately they weren't otherwise he would have had surgery

im still doubtful that if it could of been fixed with minimal pain to the dog that it still wouldnt of been the same outcome!!!!

factory trainer menailty with x amount of dogs that come into the kennel each month and x amount who must leave

im just hoping im thinking of the correct factory trainer here and not the other factory trainer who trainer for wheeler...... because the other factory trainer are actually good blokes

hmmmm

Kyleigh 12-05-2010 09:21 PM

Well buddy I was there so u tell me what 'factory trainer' u are thinking off, this dog earnt just shy of 75 grand and wasn't 3 til next month believe me it wasn't a decision that was taken lightly!

just double checked and I had the wrong factory trainer, dailly boys are good blokes I was thinking it was another bale from the main "factory kennel"

coops 12-06-2010 06:02 AM

As matter of factory you could be right Nick.

Kyleigh 12-06-2010 07:36 AM

In the end the decision comes down to the owner anyway, not the trainer

Hey Nick, me pup Snake is sick this morning mate. I thought something was wrong when he had his performance trial yesterday. He ran a very slow time the worsed he ever done and I thought he might have been sore, but this morning he was not himself at all.
I stuck me finger up his arse to get his temp and he did have a bit of a temp. Will give him some milk and honey a few times during the day and let him come in the house and rest on the lounge.
The other dog ran 2nd getting beaten by 1/2 length. Led all bar the post.

well if you stuck you finger up my ass aswel id be sick to :)

keep an eye on him and the amount of water he is drinking, dont want the dog to get assidosis

just keep his electrolytes up, whilst milk is good to much will give him the shits big time and ull get a supprise next time you insert a finger

there is alot of products out there, just keep an eye on the dog and if he gets worse make the trip to the vet

honey and milk is old school, we use milk and dextrose 30 mins after a trial/race but there is a few horse products on the market 1 in a tube and another which is powder form, names escape me at the moment

Kyleigh 12-06-2010 02:36 PM

Ass idosis without even realizing it u were quiet amusing then, acidosis perhaps

Kyleigh 12-06-2010 02:37 PM

And coops vitamin b gve that to him, an injectable one if u can get ur hands on it

coops 12-06-2010 05:26 PM

Thanks Kyleigh, but It's too much vitamin b thats making him sick. Her has all the vitamin B complex on his dinner every night and I don't think his kiddneys and liver is coping with it. His urine is glowing yellow. I will cut out all vitamins for 3weeks to give his system a bit of a rest.
He has perked up a little this afternoon and he spent the day inside on the lounge.
He's not drinking any extra water and I have been giving him Electrolytes as required.
I am very carefull when it comes to a stressed dog and give it treatment imediately after a race when it cools down.

It's nice when people are concerned about other peoples dogs and give advise.
Thanks heaps guys.

Kyleigh 12-06-2010 09:14 PM

Sounds like he has been burnt if his pee is really yellow, kidneys=drink water like mad, some amino lights wouldn't go astray, and a course of antibiotics by the sounds of it

Seriously doubt it!!! The Melbourne cup coverage was pathetic, it has to be in NSW to get any sort of decent airtime!! From memory there was no replay or pics of the presentation just a 10sec grab of Simone Fisher and Carolyn Jones walking up the straight. The dog had just won $175 grand and the most prestigious race in Australia yet they rushed off to bloody Dapto or Ouyen trots!!! If it was in NSW Paul Ambrosoli would have been given centre stage!!! I've got nothing against Ambrosoli he is a legend and a great spruiker of our sport but SKY are a joke!!

Kyleigh 12-10-2010 08:57 AM

Was a great night of racing that's for sure, 2 boys from the 1 litter, how good is that, I hope Archie draws the 8 and Nicky gets the 1, 3 track records in one night 2 from the 461 and a record from the 340 in the last the track was on fire! Looking forward to the final, I'm glad tassie got 3 in, after the octane show broke the recordthere was amassive down pour of rain, which very nicely I got caught in walking from the grand stand back to the kennels lol so that would be why octane assassin recorded the slowest win time, good luck to all connections in the final, should be a great race!

chub 12-10-2010 02:36 PM

yes kyleigh and 20 swabs urine i presume a FCUKING joke and waste of time cheers chub.

Kyleigh 12-10-2010 03:25 PM

Def 19 done 1st and 2nd from each heat and the compulsory record breaking swab in the last
