Apollo, to steal a phrase from Pauline Hanson, "please explain". This seems to me to be an extaordinary negative and broad-sweeping statement. I have never been in a syndicate and definitley do not know anyone who runs a syndicate, however, to me it seems like an opportunity for a bit of relatively cheap fun. In percentage terms, not many people are actually going to make money out of dogs, whether it be owning their own dog outright or being part of a syndicate, it is just a bit of fun for most. In this case, if my reading of the preceeding posts is correct, then Dawn has made her run too late on this one but I will leave it to Rob (whoever he is or maybe it is a she) to advise her.

As with the dogs I have not been the member of a horse syndicate but can quickly think of some friends who have "gone down that road". They have all had positive good experiences. This doesn't mean that they have necessarily made a profit but they had a lot of fun including one lot winning a feature jumps race. HOWEVER, I know that it is not logical reasoning (it is not reasonable) for me, on the basis of these few cases to draw a conclusion across the whole population of racing syndicates. Nevertheless, if I was putting $10,000 into a horse syndicate and if I could afford it, I would be going in on the basis of, "the strong chance is that I am never going to see that $10,000 again". That same philosophy applies to spending any money on dogs but the money is not my reason for being involved.

I saw Mystery Lodger run the other night and I myself think that this dog is cabable of winning heaps of races. He seems to be a very good beginner and hangs in until he gets crowded by the other dogs. He is still very young and he will get used to the crowding and when he does, look out world.
Those who have purchased a share in this dog for such a small price should have smiles from ear to ear. I reckon, well done.
