Hey i spoke to Coops about the race as i missed it.

He said, she jumped well but got checked by the 2 and was pushed back to 6-7th. She then picked up and was running home well but got another check trying to get through the field.

Finished only a 1 3/4 lengths off the winner in 6th.

Gippy 04-12-2010 04:12 PM

Sounds like a good run!!

Well. On face value I thought it was a super run looking at what happened. Then I saw the time. 21.70 or 21.80. I have never seen a Maiden race won in that slow a time ever? So a little deceiving...

Morgan 05-06-2010 11:23 AM

Ran 2nd on Monday at Nowra over 395m which is too short.

Goes into the final next Monday, not bad prize money with $1500 to the winner, lets hope she jumps well this time and breaks her maiden.

Dougie 05-10-2010 08:41 PM

shit mate no good at all

sorry for the loss to you and coops

Gippy 05-11-2010 09:21 AM

Sad to hear lads!! No matter what a dogs ability or future holds its very sad to lose them. Bad luck Coops, you had her going well mate and had certainly put in the hard yards and a win was imminent.:(

TheChook 05-11-2010 12:58 PM

Sorry to hear Morgan and Coops. Lost a lass there not long ago, same box same distance same spot same type of break.

RIP Lady was a pleasure to meet you and get my ass kicked by you at Dapto.

coops 05-28-2010 07:40 PM

Thanks for your comments guys.
Lady was a very beautiful greyhound and she ment the world to me. Unfortunately she came down on the first turn at Nowra and smashed her front leg to a degree that she had to be put to sleep then and there so she would not suffer.
In the following days I really felt shithouse. I was really missing her bad.
As you know I put a lot of work into her and she was comming along nicely. In my opinion she would have developed into a very handy dog.
She is at rest now and I still miss her. You may think I'm stupid, but you didn't know her like I did.
I hope one day I get another dog as good as her.

Gippy 05-31-2010 03:30 PM

Mate, only you know the special bond that forms between a dog and its trainer over time. With a hobby trainer its got nothing to do with $$ or winning countless races, its about working with that animal to help it reach its potential and doing it cos you love doing it!! I always feel shithouse when the dreaded day comes to have one put down or if it happens as a result of a accident!!

lilyflowerandroxy 05-31-2010 03:56 PM

I was sorry to hear about Lady too Coops, she sounded like a real little trier xxxx

I sure hope you'll be taking home one of my 7 mths old pups when you come up for a visit this week ;-) should help ease a bit of the pain xxx

coops 05-31-2010 06:20 PM

You got that right Gippy mate. Thanks for that nice comment.

Lilly my pride and joy, I hope one of those pups take my fancy coz you will be one dog short if it does.

coops 06-03-2010 09:59 PM

Well my baby girl Lilly is one pup short. She forced me to take the dog. 7 mths old black dog with just a little white patch on his chest. His name is MALCOM.
I got to know him by letting him out of his kennel to have a piss and giving him his dinner.

lilyflowerandroxy 06-04-2010 08:39 AM

LOL

Well now I have just one pup left to sell... a gorgeous fiesty fawn bitch (sister to Mal) so if you guys are interested in following Coops' lead, then pm me (sorry I won't be including vanilla slices with the sale) and I may do a great deal on the price!

coops 12-12-2010 09:28 AM

Well Malcom (The pup I bought off Lilly)comes home from ther rearers tomorrow (Monday) He has turned out to be a great looking dog. I just hope he can run. He'll be 14 months old in January but he is very mature for his age. There is not much puppy left in him. I'll start breaking him in when he's 15/16 mths old.
I have another 2 dogs as well. One is 3 years old and she's racing today at Nowra race 6.
Then there is Snake. A great little dog but he is leggless. Can't run out of sight on a dark night, but he is a trier. He hasn't raced yet but he is ready to go anytime now. I just have to find a track where they race very slow dogs.lol

Gippy 01-12-2011 10:57 AM

Great stuff Coops, in town too !!!

coops 01-13-2011 07:24 AM

Thanks Gippy. Yep first win for me in town for 40 years.
I've thrown her back in for next Saturday night at Wenty (Race 1 box 5) just to see how she goes again. She Might find it a bit tough in that race coz her win time last week wasn't real crash hot.

coops

coops 01-16-2011 07:36 AM

Well the race has been run and could only manage 2nd. Led from the start but was caught on the line. She did run well I thought.

coops

kra88y 01-16-2011 03:49 PM

thats ok coops i took some of that 4.70 a place after its last run cant complain about that :D good price for a place :D i thought it was a solid run aswell :D

coops 01-16-2011 04:49 PM

yea mate, I was amazed that she paid that much. Good to see you get some dollars from her. She is consistant when it comes to placings. I've had 7 starts with her for 1 win 3 seconds and two thirds.
But it's only been marred by the fact that the previous owner who gave her away because he didn't want her, now wants $1,500 for her and if don't give it to him by next wednesday 19th January he and one of his mates says that he will get someone to end my life. He told me that straight after her race last saturday night in the kenneling area at Wenty.
So mate if I'm not around later you know whats happened.

coops

Gippy 01-18-2011 10:55 AM

Tell him to piss off coop, He'll only be bluffing!! Tell the stewards and the board. Its shits me scabs like that try this crap on!!

coops 01-18-2011 05:10 PM

Gippy, I told the stewards imediatley that night of the threat at Wenty. I had my say and they told me to go out the back door while they brought him in the front door. What was said to him in the stewards room is unknown to me at the moment. But at least it has been recorded by the stewards, and I'm happy with that.
Some people have told me to go to the police and get him charged with "Demanding monies with menace." which is a serious offence. But I'll deal with the matter in my own way.

coops

cheyenne 01-18-2011 06:22 PM

coops dont take that from him, thats the trouble they cant train them but when the dog starts proforming for u. because she has been treated right. an love. there one thing to do coops is be like in the westerns shoot first ask questions later.

coops 02-07-2011 06:55 AM

Hey fella's. My Lilly has given me the heave ho and now I have to whelp my own pups as she told someone that I can go and get stuffed about her whelping my bitches pups and just when I gave her the best years of her life.

Now what do I need to whelp them myself? I know i've got to stay with her while she is aving her pups, but do I need to give her anything before and after?

I've whelped heaps of pups before, but they where mongrel dogs. It's easy wiff them. You just check on her a few times during the night and count how many pups she's got each time you check. Never lost a pup ever. Just give her heaps of hot milk and honey a few times a day. Dead easy! Then let her raise them for the rest of her life. She weans them off by half killing them when there're 6 years old.

So guys, if you need to tell me nows the time.

You picked a fine to leave me Lil lee.

Gippy 05-04-2011 01:25 PM

Bloody Women, always leave you high and dry!!
I reckon you have it down about pat Coops, an injection of calcium when she first starts helps and then some oxytocin to clean her out afterwards also. The vets usually sell it as a whelping kit, I'd ask a Greyhound vet mate!
Have some rubber gloves, and old towels there to clean the pups as their born as there's shit going everywhere!!
All the best mate, whens she due?? Whats the breeding??

coops 05-04-2011 10:00 PM

thanks for that Gippy mate. I wil see a vet and get the kit.

She is by Collision X Dawns Memory and she will sired by Hurricane Luke.
When she comes on season. I won a free service to Hurricane Luke in a race with the bitch. Bella Tae Dawn. She has been off hormones now for 8 weeks and I'm waiting for her to come on season.

gippy do me a favour and tell my LILLY that my training skills are second to none. That'll brighten her up a bit. lol
