Dear diary 2/2/10. All animals have finished meeting. All animals have gone to their own living areas.
I know somethings brewing coz all the animals are laying down and all facing the same direction.
Will have to sneak Lady out back door and put her in car for the night.

Coops I remember back in 1970 being at the old Chipping Norton trial track. A guy had left a dog or two in what was his wife's car. He was shitting himself about going home. They ripped the inside of the car to shreds. OK, it probably won't happen to you as there were two dogs, they were at a trial track which is a fairly exciting environment for a greyhound and most importantly we do know than when it all boils down, Lady is essentially a "lady" and although a "lady" might eat the occasional plastic cup or similar object, being totally destructive is not in her make up, I think. Might be best not to trial her for a while until the plastic has been further processed into whatever, plastic gets further processed into, "polysomething" or maybe just lots of black smoke coming out of her arse.

Gippy 02-03-2010 10:13 AM

She sounds like a candidate for one of those American Muzzles!!! I don't think they are cheap, but either is a new apolstry job in your vehicle!!!

coops 02-03-2010 11:27 AM

Dear diary 3/2/10. Lady's night in the car proved to be a mistake.@#$#@%^&
Lady was in the paddock this morning trying to throw up a gearbox. @#$#@$%^

So how is Lady settling in now, Vanilla slice? ;-)

coops 02-05-2010 01:54 PM

Hello Cream puff my little humming bird.

Yes lady is settling in fine. By next week I reckon she will have the shits because there will be nothing left around the place for her to eat.

paulyt 02-05-2010 03:04 PM

Go to a pet shop and buy some bunnies. That will give her some to eat and something to play with at the same time.

Morgan 02-05-2010 03:39 PM

Dear diary. 11/2/10 Learned Lady some box manners this morning chasing bulls in the ring.
Lady needs to hang on to the bull a lot longer.
Lady needs to learn not to sit down in the boxes.
Will learn Lady again a lot more other times.

coops 02-11-2010 08:47 PM

Dear diary. still the same day.
Very sad today as we had to bury Beryl the pig. Full ceromony performed as usual to all our departed animal friends.
Dear diary. must move Lady to another location on the property tomorrow.

Coops I have been away and about to go away again but I have certainly been wondering what has been progressing with the 2 bitches, not too much it seems but it can be a slow process. With regard to the rodent matter, I completely deny any involvement in illegal activity although I did sneak (yes that means steal) one apricot from the West Como fruit shop in about 1959. Hopefully, the relevant statutory period has elapsed, leaving me in the clear in terms of punishment. I still feel ashamed because Mr Lummis, the owner of the fruit shop, was in later years generous in allowing me to weigh my fawn Greenane Toast bitch on his fruit shop scales. Her racing weight varied between "half a bag of spuds plus two oranges" and "half a bag of spuds, 2 x oranges and a whole cabbage".

coops 02-18-2010 05:12 PM

Dear Diary 18/2/10. Lady has finished her re education and will be trialling at Dapto in the morning. Hopefully she will do better than last trial of 17.60.
Bess will also be trialling for the first time since 19th December 09 after she broke her fibular.

coops

YUTHAPINABOY 02-18-2010 09:59 PM

Coops, thanks for that advice, I am looking forward to learning she has found 10 lengths improvement with a 16.99 (BOD). Any chance of posting the report tomorrow as I am away for 2 1/2 weeks as from tomorrow night.

coops 02-19-2010 01:39 PM

Dear diary. Trialled lady and Bess at Dapto this morning over the shorts.
Lady's test day after her re education for three weeks ran very well indeed.
Bess's second run for 2 months ran what I expected. Fair.

Gippy 02-19-2010 02:52 PM

Was the clock working mate?;);):D

coops 02-19-2010 04:29 PM

Oh sorry mate. 17.35 for lady and 17.80 for Bess.

coops

YUTHAPINABOY 02-19-2010 06:29 PM

Good on you Lady, a bit to go yet but there is hope. Bess, 17.80, as Nick sometimes says, "hmmmmmmmmmm".

coops 02-19-2010 06:59 PM

A little bit more with Lady,to break the track record which was broken about a week ago 16.79 by Pauper.

Bess with her 3rd run in 2 months will improve.

coops

Morgan 02-23-2010 01:22 PM

What time you trialling them tonight coops?

coops 02-23-2010 03:30 PM

Dear diary 23/2/10 Trialled both dogs at Richmond this morning over 400mtrs. Lady did ok. Still a bit howdy dowdy out the boxes. Bess jumped 3 lths in front. Lady beat Bess by 5 lths.
Bess needs a new home.

coops

What was Lady's time like taking into account she jumped poorly?

coops 02-23-2010 05:18 PM

Lady ran 23.27. She needs to improve around 5 tenths to be reasonable.
She probably lost 1to2 tenths at the boxes.

coops

Morgan 02-24-2010 10:24 AM

First time at 400m so hopefully she improves next run and jumps well.

Nothing wrong with running in the 23.20 for a maiden. Given the right race, that would win some maidens, but if you can get her down under 23, you are guaranteed to win more than just a maiden race.

coops 02-25-2010 07:25 PM

I have no doubt that she'll get below 23.00 in the next couple of runs. But at the moment I'm concerntrating in getting her fit so she can get to that time. I've got 5 weeks to get her ready for the easter maiden heats at wentworth park.

coops

Morgan 02-26-2010 01:43 PM

Well lets hope she can break the 23 second mark.

Dougie 02-26-2010 10:50 PM

Hey Coops, your aiming high with Group 2 Wenty Pk Easter Maiden as i hope she can get a good 520m for you and morgan. We had a go with my two dogs for a winner and a 4th a couple of years ago. The winner ran about 30.50 but best time was under 30.00 in the heats. He was blown away in the semi finals. Anyway mate you never know if you dont have a go. 23.20 for a maiden at richmond is okay. She should improve on that. Good Luck with her and are you still going to the meeting on sunday. Just letting know i wont be there. cheers Dougie :)

coops 02-27-2010 09:44 AM

No it's not a group 2 Dougie, it's a maiden. Would 24.38 post to post at WP be ok to win a heat.
